Reopening phases began in Mauritius in July 2021, initially with a ‘resort holiday’ concept where visitors had to stay within their resort for a period of 14 days after their arrival. Upon the presentation of a negative PCR test, they could explore the island.

As from September 1st, the concept of ‘resort holiday’ is now reduced to 7 days for fully vaccinated guests, upon presentation of a negative PCR test. According to the latest government reports, as from October 1st, Mauritius will be reopening its borders without restrictions, that is no quarantine to fully vaccinated travellers but still upon presentation of a negative PCR test done 72 hours prior to their boarding day at the airport.
