VLV Car Rental

The Vale Rivière du Rempart District MU

We bet the most frequently asked question travelers come across is ‘Have you been to that place? It’s absolutely jaw-dropping!’ If your answer is yes, we could not be happier for you but if it is no, here’s our small tip so you don’t miss the myriad of fun-filled activities Mauritius has got in store for you!

Exploring the island on your own can be a door to great adventures but seeing things through the eyes of locals can be an equally rewarding travel experience. When travelling in large groups or with young ones, arranging for transport facilities, specific diet preferences and making sure everyone’s happy with a proposed set of activities can get tricky. Worry no more! You can now get your own car with VLV!

Whether we’re talking about decades-old museums, wild road trips, busy spice scented markets or the discovery of the local Tea Route, here are a couple of itineraries we would recommend:

Starting on the highest plateau of the island, you can visit Trou-aux-Cerfs, a dormant volcano crater that offers a breathtaking view over Curepipe, the City of Lights. We would then advise you make your way to Grand Bassin, a remote but highly spiritual hotspot towards which thousands and thousands of Hindu devotees converge every year for the Maha Shivratri Festival. A great way to end your amazing diurnal journey would be to dip your feet in the warm shimmering waters of Blue Bay Beach, Belle Mare Beach or at Pointe d’Esny. On your way, you should be able to spot Lion Mountain as well!

When in the west, do make a stopover at the Albion Lighthouse. Before you end the day at the pristine beach of Flic-en-Flac, do check the Casela Nature Park for some unique encounters with wild animals and some of the world’s most majestic birds. Casela offers a wide array of activities you might want to try out. If you’d rather go for a walk in the forest and get completely lost in your thoughts whilst in nature, then Black River National Park is the place for you.

To enjoy any of these itineraries, you can get your own four-wheeler to move around with your family or friends. Get in touch with VLV now!
